Customer Survey and Focus Group Privacy Notice

What personal information do we collect and how do we use it?
We, or an agent acting on our behalf, collect your personal information directly from you when you choose to take part in a market research survey or focus group. This information may include your contact details, demographic information such as age, gender identity/preferred pronouns and geographic area, behavioural insight information such as receipt details and if you shopped online, your order ID, as well as your views and opinions in relation to Walmart’s goods and services. We may even ask for your consent to upload photos, videos and feedback which would allow you to voice your opinions on shopping at Walmart.
We may use information related to your purchases to invite you to take part in survey and focus group activities and to ask for further details around your answers. In some cases, you may also be offered an incentive or the opportunity to enter into a prize draw for your participation. In such cases, we will use your information to provide you the incentive or run the prize draw.
We use your personal information to run surveys and focus groups via online questionnaires, in person interviews, phone interviews and to complete any follow up as agreed.
The personal information we gather through surveys and focus groups is used to generate market research and insight into specific topics of interest to Walmart. For example, we may wish to gather customer feedback on product availability. In most cases, we do not need responses at an individual level; therefore, the reports received by Walmart are aggregated or grouped. In some cases, we will receive information at an individual level, however this information will then be anonymized so you cannot be individually identified from it.
Who do we share it with?
We only share your personal information with trusted third-party partners who conduct surveys, focus groups, and prize draws on our behalf.
How long do we keep your personal information?
We retain your personal information for three (3) years after you have provided it to us, at which point it will be securely deleted or anonymized.
