Today, history was made at Walmart Canada.

Walmart Canada pharmacist Shaimaa Ali administered our first-ever COVID-19 vaccine.

We are so proud married couple Joseph and Grace received the first-ever vaccines at our Red Deer North Walmart Supercentre Friday afternoon.

Walmart is ready to help more Canadians get immunized against COVID-19.

Congratulations to our entire healthcare team for helping make this historic and important moment happen.

While our Red Deer pharmacy was selected to participate in this first stage of the Alberta government’s Pharmacy Immunization Program, we are able to offer the vaccine at more Walmart pharmacies from coast-to-coast. We will share those details as they become available.

Over the last several months, we have been in discussions with key pharmacy stakeholders to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.

We have increased refrigeration capacity at our pharmacies by purchasing a number of ultra-cold freezers to assist with the storage and handling of some vaccine formulas.

From the very start of the pandemic, Walmart Canada has worked hard to support Canadians in receiving the health, wellness and pharmacy products and services they needed in the safest way possible.

Walmart Canada is a destination for health and well-being with 337 corporate pharmacies nationwide and has an additional 68 Accès Pharma chez Walmart franchise locations in Quebec, with over 1,300 pharmacists and affiliated pharmacists across the country.

We’re so thankful to our pharmacists and healthcare workers who’ve been working tirelessly to serve the healthcare needs of their communities.
