From Walmart Argentina to Walmart Canada: Ingrid’s journey of growth and possibility

Nov. 6, 2026

When Ingrid moved from Argentina to Canada with her husband, she was starting a new chapter in her life. But there was one thing she wanted to continue: her career with Walmart.

After spending nearly six years with Walmart Argentina, Ingrid knew the culture, the people and the opportunities to grow. Choosing Walmart Canada gave her the chance to build on that experience while creating a new future.

Today, as Senior Analyst Workforce Planning, she's using her creativity and passion for helping others to make learning easier for associates.

The people who believed in her

Throughout her career, Ingrid has had leaders who believed in her, encouraged her and helped her recognize strengths she didn’t always see in herself.

One of those leaders was Charmaine Gomez, Total Loss and Compliance Assistant Manager, who worked alongside Ingrid for several years.

“The people, the associates. That was her passion all along,” Charmaine said.

Whether she was answering questions, listening to someone who needed support or writing a handwritten card to recognize a colleague, Ingrid found ways to make people feel valued.

And she carried an important lesson with her that she now shares with others:

“Don’t be the one to say no to yourself. If you want something, go for it.”

Finding new ways to make a difference

Ingrid’s curiosity and willingness to try new things have continued to open doors.

When she began working with Kyla Mitchell, Director of Continuous Improvement, on the rollout of a new scheduling application, Ingrid saw an opportunity to help associates learn in a different way.

She created animated videos to make the new tool easier to understand.

“When I first started interacting with Ingrid, you could just feel her passion for helping other people grow,” Kyla said.

What stood out to Kyla wasn’t simply Ingrid’s creativity. It was the way she began thinking about the people on the receiving end of her work.

She began asking a bigger question: How could she use her creativity to make learning easier and help other associates succeed?

That curiosity has continued to shape Ingrid's career.

She's invested in her own education through Walmart's Live Better U program and is exploring how AI can support her everyday work.

When associates needed training for a new role, Ingrid and her team created 14 videos they could revisit whenever they needed support. It's one example of how her creativity is helping make learning more accessible for others.

Helping others see what’s possible

The encouragement Ingrid received throughout her career has stayed with her. Today, she’s giving the same support to others.

Charmaine remembers how Ingrid would encourage associates who weren’t sure they were ready for their next opportunity.

“She would always bring out the best of what they can do,” Charmaine said. “She would encourage them and motivate them to go to that next step.”

Ingrid's story is a reminder that career growth isn't always about the next title or position. Sometimes it's about discovering a new skill, trying something different or having someone believe in you before you believe in yourself.

From Walmart Argentina to Walmart Canada, Ingrid has continued to learn, grow and find new ways to make a difference.

And perhaps the most meaningful part of her journey is that the opportunities she's been given are now helping create opportunities for others.
