Last month, Walmart Canada grand opened its Squamish store as the Squamish Walmart Supercentre, marking its complete transformation to introduce fresh groceries for the Squamish community. This is an exciting new chapter for the store as it celebrates more than 20 years of serving the Squamish community.
Located at 39210 Discovery Way, the newly renovated Supercentre 86,000 square foot store employing approximately 170 associates, now offers customers a true one-stop shopping experience, combining Walmart's full assortment of general merchandise with a new fresh grocery offering, convenient pickup and delivery, and a full-service Walmart Pharmacy all at Walmart's everyday low prices.
The store also features a unique two-panel mural by Aboriginal artists Joshua (Schet7xwimtin) Watts Natraoro a Nuuchahnulth, and Adopted Sḵwx̱wú7mesh First Nations professional artist, and Cultural Carrier and his father Ray (Sesiyam) Natraoro.

The new Supercentre features:
- A fresh assortment of groceries, including produce, meat, seafood, bakery and dairy
- Walmart's full general merchandise assortment, including fashion, home, electronics, health and wellness, seasonal products and more
- Convenient pickup and delivery from store
- A full-service Walmart Pharmacy
Customers can shop in-store from 8am – 10pm, 7 days a week and can access Walmart’s convenient pickup and delivery when they shop online.
"Our pharmacy team is excited to welcome customers into our new space and provide even greater access to convenient healthcare services," said Raelene Vandenbosch, Pharmacy Manager, Squamish Walmart.
Last year alone, the store raised and donated $43,000 to local charities and non-profits.
To mark the grand opening event, the store presented community grants to Squamish Sikh Society, Squamish Helping Hands Society and Squamish General Hospital Auxiliary Society.
Walmart Canada operates 47 stores and a distribution centre in British Columbia, employing more than 12,000 associates across the province. The new Squamish Supercentre reinforces Walmart Canada's commitment to investing in communities and providing Canadians with greater convenience, value and access to the products and services they need.
