Celebrating the 2026 Walmart Canada Associate Scholarship Recipients

Sep. 3, 2026

At Walmart Canada, investing in education means investing in the future. That’s why we’re proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the Walmart Canada Associate Scholarship program, recognizing the hard work, determination and potential of graduating high school students in Walmart communities across the country.

This year, Walmart Canada awarded 72 scholarships, totaling $144,000, helping students who are Walmart associates or dependents of associates take the next step in their educational journeys and pursue their goals with confidence.

The Walmart Canada Associate Scholarship program is a celebration of academic achievement, community involvement and perseverance as much as it’s an initiative to close gaps in access to financial aid. Each recipient has demonstrated a commitment to learning and a drive to make a positive impact in their communities.

“At Walmart Canada, we’re committed to supporting our associates and their families as they pursue opportunities to learn, grow and succeed,” said Erin Mackey, Manager, Community Giving. “We’re incredibly proud of this year’s scholarship recipients and inspired by their ambition. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the years ahead.”

Among this year’s recipients is Niniola Owoyami, an associate at Store 1014 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, who will attend Dalhousie University for engineering.

“Studying engineering is a demanding journey and receiving this scholarship helps take a significant financial burden off my shoulders,” Niniola said. “More than that, it serves as a powerful reminder that I have a strong support system behind me. I am incredibly proud to have found that support within Walmart.”

For many families, the scholarship provides meaningful support as students transition to post-secondary education. Sahaj Kaur Pandher, whose mother Navpreet Kaur is a claims associate at Store 1015 in Squamish, B.C., said the scholarship represents the “ultimate reward for [their] mother’s dedication and hard work at Walmart.”

“It means I can pursue my higher education goals knowing that the company supporting her is now also supporting my dreams,” said Sahaj Kaur. “This scholarship fills my heart with immense gratitude and inspires me to carry the spirit of that relentless effort into my own post-secondary education.”

Whether recipients are pursuing careers in healthcare, business, education, technology, skilled trades or the arts, the scholarship program helps remove barriers and opens doors to new opportunities.

The Walmart Canada Associate Scholarship Program is one of many ways Walmart Canada invests in education and helps associates and their families build brighter futures. Since 2000, Walmart Canada has awarded more than 1,600 scholarships, representing over $3 million in funding to associates and their dependents across the country.

Congratulations to all our 2026 scholarship recipients. Your hard work and achievements inspire us, and we’re honoured to be part of your journey. We can’t wait to see where your education and ambitions take you next.

Walmart Canada has made a commitment to supporting Canadians in need. Since 1994, Walmart Canada has raised and donated more than $940 million to support communities across Canada.
