The announcement at Walmart Canada’s Year Beginning Meeting brought the team to its feet. For General Manager Todd Chambers and the associates at DC 7088, it was a moment that reflected a year of focus, momentum and shared commitment.
That momentum had been building.
After being named a finalist the year prior, the team knew they were on the right track. They used that momentum to keep pushing forward, continuing to raise the bar across their operations.
“Last year, we felt like we were so close,” said Chambers. “The team really rallied around that and stayed focused on the journey we’re on.”
That focus carried through 2025, earning DC 7088 the title of Walmart Canada’s Supply Chain Facility of the Year. It recognizes a facility that exemplifies excellence in execution, a strong focus on efficiency and cost discipline, team spirit, and a deep commitment to Walmart’s values and culture.
Under Chambers’ leadership, the facility has delivered consistent results and strong performance. Just as important is the culture behind those results. Associates are empowered to take ownership, make decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement.
“Everyone’s empowered to make decisions and be part of the solution,” said Chambers. “That’s what helps us keep improving and moving forward. We’ve created a really cohesive team here. Everyone’s bought into what we’re trying to achieve.”
That team-first mindset was on full display when the award was accepted. Chambers made sure the team joined him on stage, turning the moment into a shared celebration and earning a standing ovation.
