Get ready! Big changes are happening at Walmart Canada’s Squamish, BC store.
Starting this week, Walmart Canada’s Squamish Walmart located at 39210 Discovery Way will begin its transformation to a Supercentre! Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the renovated store will offer Squamish customers fresh groceries in addition to the general merchandise they already know and love at Walmart’s everyday low prices.
“This transformation is incredibly exciting for our associates and customers, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 20 years of serving Squamish,” says Donna Ricci, Store Manager, Squamish Walmart. “Our community has been asking for our store to become a Supercentre with everything they need in one place, from groceries to general merchandise, and we’re thrilled to be bringing one to them!”
“We can’t wait to introduce our customer-favourite Supercentre format and the true one-stop shopping experience to Squamish,” said Shawn Fujiki, Senior Director, Real Estate, Walmart Canada. “Thank you to the District of Squamish for their collaboration throughout the rezoning process, which allowed us to move forward with our plans to bring a Walmart Supercentre to the community.”
The Supercentre transformation marks an important milestone, reinforcing Walmart Canada’s commitment to serving local communities and better meeting customer needs.
Customers can follow along on the Squamish Walmart store’s Facebook page for updates as construction gets underway. The store will remain open throughout the renovation, with a grand reopening celebration expected this summer.
The Squamish Walmart Supercentre will offer:
- A fresh assortment of groceries, including produce, chicken, pork, beef, seafood, baked goods and dairy products
- Continued access to Walmart’s full general merchandise assortment, including fashion, home goods, electronics, health and wellness, seasonal and more
- Convenient pickup and delivery from store
- Walmart Pharmacy
In 2025, Walmart Canada announced a $6.5 billion investment over the next five years to expand its store and supply chain footprint across the country.
