Feast Mode Activated: How Walmart’s helping Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving

Oct. 6, 2023

This weekend, Canadians will be sitting down with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving – and we believe budget should never be a barrier. That’s why Walmart Canada is offering our everyday low prices on Thanksgiving favourites from holiday meals to home décor, so that Canadians can save money and live better.

Feast for Less

We’re serving up our everyday low prices on the food customers love for a delicious and affordable Thanksgiving feast.

With the Thanksgiving weekend ahead, we are proudly giving families across Canada a meal at a price LOWER than our last year’s price. Learn more here.

Our customers are already starting the turkey trot – we know from last year that most of our turkey sales happened a week out from Thanksgiving, and this year Albertans are leading the way in early turkey purchases. Way to be prepared!

But we know turkey alone does not make a Thanksgiving feast! Favourites like Your Fresh Market pumpkin pie, Great Value boneless smoked ham, and Our Finest vintage cheese and meat selections for the perfect charcuterie board are also on the menu.

We aren’t just bringing you great deals on food this holiday season, we’re also offering festive fall décor that’s guaranteed to cozy up your space.

Festive Fall Décor

Our festive harvest décor line has been carefully designed to offer trendy, affordable and inclusive items that bring the warmth of fall to homes and tables. This year, we’ve incorporated new bilingual inscribed wreaths and pillows, while offering more scarecrows and gnomes that represent various ethnicities. We’ve also expanded our harvest line to include more DIY items for customers wanting to create their own unique arrangements and centerpieces – all at the everyday low prices customers expect from Walmart.

“I’m really excited about this year’s harvest line in our décor offerings,” said Lynn Rhinds, Associate Category Manager, Walmart Canada. This line was designed with price and value in mind, knowing this is also top of mind for our customers right now. Our goal was to bring the warm feeling of fall to homes, affordably and to simplify our customers lives by offering a one stop shop experience for all their Thanksgiving needs!”

Celebrating Together

As we head into the long weekend, associates at our home office (known as the Store Support Centre) came together to celebrate over delicious Your Fresh Market pumpkin and apple pies.

And, in stores across the country, teams will gather to give thanks together throughout the weekend. Store Manager, Kristin Sauve at our South Windsor store is known for hosting an annual Thanksgiving dinner for her associates. “My team is an extended family to me," said Sauve. “Many of them are away from their families during the holidays and this dinner is a way to appreciate and thank each of them for all they do for our customers!”

Wishing Canadians everywhere a happy Thanksgiving as you celebrate this weekend and reflect on what you’re grateful for. We’re thankful for our associates, customers and partners who choose Walmart as a trusted employer and retailer.
