I knew right away that Walmart was the right place for me.
As soon as I started here with Walmart and realized what type of culture it had and how inclusive they were, I was excited to find a company that matched my energy.
And I love Walmart just as much 11 years later, and I still feel that same sense of excitement every day I walk into work.
Our purpose at Walmart is to help Canadians save money so they can live better. That really hits home for me – I know personally what it’s like to grow up not being able to afford food, or to wake up on Christmas morning without any presents. I feel motivated every day to work hard to ensure we’re all doing our part to help save our customers money, especially those that are in similar situations that I was growing up.
The most rewarding part of my job is teaching and mentoring associates in the company. I love sharing my passion of Walmart with others whether it’s sharing the ins and outs of retail, how to merchandise every day, and getting them out of their comfort zones so they can grow. There's nothing more exciting to me than seeing associates I've worked with get promotions or grow their careers here.
