Empowering children's futures: Breakfast Club of Canada and Walmart Canada unite for nutrition

Boucherville, September 28, 2023 – Breakfast Club of Canada proudly announces its annual fundraising campaign with Walmart Canada, dedicated to supporting vital school and community breakfast programs. Walmart is launching the campaign with a $1 million contribution and is inviting its associates and customers to participate in this year's campaign until October 13, by making donations in-store and online at Walmart.ca.


With a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the well-being and health of children, Breakfast Club of Canada, alongside its valued partners such as Walmart, remains focused on its mission. Statistics reveal that 1 in 3 children begins their school day on an empty stomach, emphasizing the critical need for donations now more than ever. Breakfast Club of Canada is dedicated to empowering children to thrive and fostering the development of nutritious eating habits, regardless of their location.


Walmart Canada has contributed more than $63 million to school and community breakfast programs over the last 20 years.

Despite growing demand, current projections indicate that the Club may face limitations in establishing a significant number of new breakfast programs for the upcoming school year, as the current socio-economic situation is increasing the needs in the community as well as the cost of food and transportation continues to rise. Collaboration is the key to providing children access to nutritious breakfasts and meet the demands of the upcoming school year.


Together, Breakfast Club of Canada and Walmart Canada aspire to ensure every child has access to a nutritious breakfast, setting the stage for a brighter future.
