As a Walmart associate, you are in a unique situation because you are also on some occasions our customer and the information Walmart collects about you falls into two categories: your customer information and your associate information.
When you shop in Walmart stores or make purchases through our websites or apps, you are acting as a customer of Walmart, and your personal information is protected by the commitments that we make in our Privacy Notice.
As a Walmart associate, you may be able to sign up for identity authentication through PIN, facial recognition, finger or palm print reading. If you choose to sign up for facial recognition, finger or palm reading, this technology will help us confirm your identity more quickly and efficiently and can prevent others from using your identity to connect to our systems or your device.
Your authentication information can only be accessed by the following people:
- Walmart associates who need to access your authentication information to carry out their work
- Service providers who need to access your authentication information to perform services for Walmart
- Anyone who's allowed to access your authentication information by law
Authentication through facial recognition, finger or palm reading is optional. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
The personal information about you that we collect, use and disclose in connection with your role as an associate is considered “associate information,” and is governed by the Associate Privacy Standard.
In order to access, delete or update/correct your personal information contained in your personnel file, please submit a written request through our Privacy Request form or by writing to Privacy Office, Wal-Mart Canada Corp., 1940 Argentia Road Mississauga, Ontario L5N 1P9.
