As the Lunar New Year quickly approaches, Walmart Canada is rolling out the red carpet (and red envelopes) so Canadians can celebrate, enjoy lucky foods, and find special gifts at everyday low prices.
Serving as a one-stop shop for Asian Canadians year-round, more than 190 stores across the country have a roaring assortment of products and more than 40 of these same stores have even more exciting products to usher in the Year of the Dragon.
New this year, we’ve translated our media campaign - print and digital flyers and ads on Walmart.ca – to Mandarin and Cantonese. It includes our first-ever Lunar New Year advertising spot about everything you need for the holiday. Customers can also follow along with fun-filled store tours on WeChat that highlight new year decorations, foods, and gifts.

No Lunar New Year celebration would be complete without delicious traditional meals and treats. Walmart has an amazing selection of lucky foods such as dumplings, snacks and sweets along with a large variety of convenient housewares and appliances, including woks, rice cookers, steamers, and more.
Decorate with dazzling décor
This year’s decoration possibilities are endless with lanterns, dragons and more that can fly, hang, and flutter in the home, in addition to décor that is sure to wow guests.
Give the gift of good fortune
Traditional Lunar New Year celebrations include giving red envelopes filled with money to loved ones for good luck. Walmart Canada has a wide selection of red envelopes and other gifts, including dragon toys, games, and books and a Lunar New Year-themed gift card.
