  • They say adversity doesn’t build character so much as reveal it, and 2020 revealed a lot about all of us at Walmart Canada.

    We embraced the role of an essential service, adapting to support the wellbeing of customers and associates while still delivering the products and services people needed.

    Our ability to pivot quickly meant transforming stores and implementing new safety measures nobody could have predicted. We invested in our associates and introduced new apps that added conveniences to better serve customer needs. But we didn’t let our urgent response consume us.

    Throughout the year, we kept looking to the future. We remained committed to Canadian suppliers and the changes that will continue to lessen our impact on the planet.

    But we didn’t let our urgent response consume us and never lost sight of the important.

    Together, we’ve proven that we can adapt, improvise, and overcome. These pages are a tribute to our hard-working associates and a thank you for all that they have done and continue to do. It’s a summary of the extraordinary events of 2020 and how Walmart Canada rose to the challenge by transforming for customers and associates.

    Most importantly, in the midst of a global pandemic, customers found a retailer they could continue to trust.
