John Bayliss

Executive Vice President, Transformation Officer

In his current role, John is accountable for driving the strategy, innovation, corporate development, and transformation agenda for Walmart Canada. He also owns the enterprise innovation strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, incubation and implementation of new business models and revenue streams. Additionally, John is responsible for delivering the new store format, real estate, and omni supply chain network infrastructure strategies.

Prior to this role, John Bayliss was the senior vice president of logistics and supply chain of Walmart Canada, leading Walmart Canada’s retail and e-commerce logistics and fleet network.

Before joining Walmart Canada, John worked for over 16 years with The Boston Consulting Group. Most recently, he was Partner and Managing Director of BCG Canada based out of Toronto. He led BCG’s Grocery Topic Sector in the Americas region and served as a core member of the Global Retail Leadership team. John served retail clients in Canada, the US, UK, Europe, and Australia.

John serves as the Vice Chair of the Food Banks Canada Board of Directors, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Luminato Arts Festival, Canada’s largest multi-disciplinary arts festival. He is also an advisor to the Centre for Building Sustainable Value at the Ivey Business School.

John holds an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University. John has also completed Executive Education courses focused around design thinking, innovation, and artificial intelligence at MIT.
