David Criscione is Executive Vice President, eCommerce. He is responsible for the overall strategy, operations, sales and profit associated with online purchases. Prior to joining Walmart Canada in February 2018, David was Senior Vice President Finance for Walmart International, responsible for financial planning & analysis, indirect spend savings, and SG&A initiatives.
David has spent over 25 years in the grocery retail business, in various leadership roles in operations, merchandising, marketing, finance, real estate and store development, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. He came to Walmart from Amazon where he helped launch Amazon’s efforts in physical retail – Amazon Go and Amazon Books. He helped develop the “just walk out” cashier-less concept, Amazon Go, and was General Manager responsible for operations, merchandising, supply chain, store layout, real estate, and technology-interface. In addition, he was a member of a team that explored purchasing Whole Foods.
Prior to Amazon, David worked 14 years for Delhaize Group. During his time at Delhaize, he led the transformation and turnaround of the U.S. business from negative to positive same store sales and lower SG&A, as Chief Strategy and Development Officer.
He holds a magna cum laude degree in economics and mathematics from Bowdoin College and a MBA from Harvard Business School.
