Chris Cyrenne is chief ethics & compliance officer with responsibility for Canada, the UK, China and Japan. He leads the Walmart Canada ethics & compliance team, and provides direct oversight and leverage to the ethics and compliance teams across Walmart’s operations in the United Kingdom, China and Japan. Chris also previously had responsibility for Walmart’s ethics & compliance program in Africa.
Consistent with Walmart’s global framework of corporate responsibility, Chris and his team partner with the business across Walmart International on the design, development and implementation of ethics and compliance programs, supporting our basic belief of acting with integrity and helping to ensure we achieve business results the right way.
Prior to joining Ethics & Compliance, Chris served as vice president of loss prevention, risk management and aviation at Walmart Canada. In this role, he led Walmart Canada’s loss prevention, security, risk management, compliance, business continuity and travel departments.
Chris started his career with Walmart in the Legal department, and was Senior Corporate Counsel from 2004 to 2009. Prior to joining Walmart, Chris practiced corporate and commercial law at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto, Ontario.
Chris is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University. Recently, Chris served a 2-year term on the Board of Directors for Stewardship Ontario (a non-profit organization supporting blue box and other recycling programs in Ontario).
