Alexis Lanternier is Executive Vice President of eCommerce for Walmart Canada, responsible for the overall strategy, operations, sales and profit associated with online purchases. He has recently joined Walmart Canada, at the start of February 2019.

Alexis comes to us from the Lazada Group/AliBaba in South East Asia where he most recently held the title of CEO of the Singapore division. He successfully moved Lazada to a clear number 1 spot by executing a 360 strategy to prevent Amazon to have a successful launch in SG Market. This included the acquisition of Redmart, launch of Loyalty Programs and development of Express Offer. In addition, he held other Leadership roles at Lazada as Chief Supply Chain Officer and EVP, Regional Head of Fashion dating back to 2014.

Prior to Lazada, Alexis was at Amazon. During his time at Amazon he was the Head of France Clothing and Buying Team and the Head of Purchasing and Demand for video games, plus software categories. He redefined the negotiation approach of Amazon fashion and implemented structure as well as drove profitability improvement through vendor negotiations, process atomization, supply chain savings and launching the Amazon Buy Back program.

Alexis has over 13 years of experience in the eCommerce industry. He holds a Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique.
