This year we ramped up our effort to drive a positive impact in our communities and with our planet.

Over the past year, when Canadian communities needed us most, we were there in earnest. We continued the important work of supporting our charity partners by raising and donating millions of dollars. Thanks to the generosity of our customers, we even broke fundraising records.

At the same time, we didn’t lose sight of our responsibility to our planet. Walmart Canada has committed to making as light a footprint on the planet as we can. As Walmart Inc. President and CEO Doug McMillon said: our goal is to be a regenerative company and we take this responsibility very seriously. We’re finding the balance between shifting global priorities and the things that will always matter.

That means making changes with an eye toward zero waste, a focus on renewable energy, and the promotion of products that sustain resources and the environment. With these initiatives, we hope to create shared value for customer communities and society at large.

  • Our Planet

Despite the pandemic, sustainability remained at the forefront of our business operations. We are committed to the programs and goals that will make us a regenerative company, with meaningful targets for waste reduction, lower emissions, responsible buying practices, and renewable energy use. Plans that include rolling out a fleet of electrified trucks and pulling back on plastics show that we’re making an accelerated effort to be part of a cleaner future.
