This will help restore balance to climate systems, save money for our customers and reduce our dependence on oil.

• We're one of Canada's largest commercial purchasers of green power.
• We're now building new store prototypes that are 30% more energy-efficient than previous store prototypes.
• Our environmental demonstration store in Burlington, ON uses geothermal technology to heat and cool the building and is an estimated 60% more energy efficient than our typical supercentre prototype. The company has been recognized by The Retail Council of Canada with an excellence in retailing award for the facility.
• Our fresh food distribution centre in Balzac, AB is the company's first sustainable distribution centre. This living lab of sustainability includes our first pilots of hydrogen fuel cells, as well as solar and wind power. It is modelled to be 60% more energy efficient than a typical distribution centre.
