Scholarship recipients must be FULL TIME STUDENTS attending an accredited Canadian college, CEGEP or university. The scholarship money will be paid directly to the college or university; twice a year over 4 years @ $500.00 per payment.

In no instance will a cash sum be presented to the student. Applicants must be registering for the Fall 2009 term and entering their first year of post-secondary studies. Any recipient of this award who for whatever reason does not proceed to college, university or CEGEP in the Fall of 2009, will lose their right to the scholarship and our independent panel of judges will select the next candidate in line for the award. If it is determined that no candidate is deserving of the (outstanding) award then the cash value of the unclaimed award will remain in the scholarship fund for next year’s program.

The Walmart Canada Community Scholarship is an academic award. It applies to tuition and academic fees first and foremost. If these expenses are covered and funds remain from our scholarship, these funds can be applied to books and on-campus room and board. The intent of the Walmart Canada Community Scholarship Program is to pay expenses as designated and outlined by the college.

We believe that the Walmart Canada Community Scholarship Program is a worthwhile investment in our communities. We appreciate your participation in the program, and hope you will find it a rewarding experience.

Deadline for application is May 29, 2009
